Oddly enough, on our highways with 75mph limits, people rarely go over 80mph.
Everyone has a speed they are comfortable with no matter how high the speed limit is. 80 seems to be my comfort zone too. Most cars feel strained much above that.
Is there a particular significance to the center lane? The other day a truck started tailgating me which clearly meant to make me move over and clear the center lane for him.
I think everyone has missed the most ignored sign which is "Draw Bridge Ahead." Not once have I seen anyone whip out a pencil and paper to sketch the bridge they are about to cross; has anyone else?

Yes, there is. Trucks are generally not allowed in the left lane if there are 3 or more lanes. So the truck driver was trying to get you to move over so he could pass you legally.
You may have ignored the signs on the interstates that say "NO TRUCKS IN LEFT LANE" but usually truckers don't.
I really think the "no right turn on red" or any version of it (as above) is in most cases simply the result of the vast numbers of dangerously timid and unskilled drivers who, regardless if they have 150 or 750hp, are terrified of the mild g-forces, steering feel and and slight increase in engine noise to actually accelerate safely and turn into the street without traffic having to unnecessarily slam on their brakes behind them.
Most any car is fully capable without any issues (even a Prius) but don't tell that to every nervous Nelly driving her Porsche crossover as if she were riding a horse and wagon.
I was going to say the speed limit sign but I'm not sure that's accurate. People, myself included, don't drive as though the speed limit sign isn't there, they just tend to limit their speed to a given margin, like five or ten MPH, over the posted limit. Thus, are the really ignoring it?
