The oil filter pictures are all of the same filter taken today. Every cars got them and we call them all sorts of names. VTech, VVT, etc. This filter in not included in the cars recommended service manual but it does get dirty. You think there clean but maybe not so much. I just wanted to pinpoint a major problem averted for under 10 bucks. If you got a turbo on your car you have even smaller problems to worry about (pun intended). This filter was babied all it's life with 3,000 mile oil and filter changes. Imagine what it would look like with 10,000 mile oil changes.

Most people have no idea they exist until they throw a code. Then it's too late. Stay tuned for a comparison of two babied similar oil filters, (one synthetic oil all it's life) the other a major brand of non synthetic all it's life. Both with 3,000 mile oil and filter changes. Good Luck.
