The speed of sound is typically faster than a bike. I’ve very often heard bikes coming up behind me while driving. Matter of fact same goes for police, fire trucks and ambulances hmm
When that happens to me, I think something is wrong with the car, until I see the dub with the bike. I survive just fine on my old honda 750.
loud motorcycle exhausts actually do have a purpose, and that is to let other drivers in cars know they are there. too many cage drivers dont pay enough attention to what is going on around them, and often times miss seeing motorcycles.
.
Louder or deeper exhaust sounds are not for safety, rather for the “cool factor” of the vehicle!
Harley Davidson’s have a patented sound that bikers love and associate it with the brand while the Porsche SUV offers a dial adjustment to get more of a deep rumble sound. It’s certainly not a safety feature!
People who do this typically don't live long enough to need hearing aids.
And if they do, it's a very expensive hearing aide for tinnitus.
That's the constant ringing in the ears combat vets develop.
Or like my mother, too many rock concerts w/o ear protection.
When I had a loud system in my car, I used the boom boom bass to get slow pokes out of my way.
Works every time.
Since there’s still too many people out there that like to troll other drivers by not moving out of the left lane, I’ll be installing a new system in my present car just for that purpose.
I like my music loud, and in my new Ram the audio system is one of the best factory systems I've heard. Bass hits hard, no vibrations or distortion. Regardless , If I'm listening to Slayer or Public Enemy I do turn it down at stop lights. I generally have my windows up anyway...
