Not a classic by any means but my 96 Courgar XR7 with a V8 was a sweet ride. In fact, it was that car that introduced me to the V8. I decided to buy it before even leaving the dealer parking lot on the test drive. But I know it's all a fantasy. Cougars of that era are mostly in junkyards, or not in a condition you'd want to be in.
CJ-7 was the last Jeep that still looked like a Jeep. Then they went to the ugly square headlights and it has been downhill with the TJ ever since.
Ya got that right, HappyRider . . .
Mine is a 1986 which was the last year for CJs prior to Chrysler taking over. It has quite a "fan club" to put it mildly. Even a quick trip to the bank or grocery store is certain to attract at least one "Lookie Lou" and usually more. Often many more.

Buy a vintage Dakota NOS that someone has been sitting on... re-power with Cummins crate engine.

It won't be the same...
This engine has more performance than my stock 6bt, which tugs 30,000# around the mtns everyday (as it has daily for over 25 yrs)
I miss my little Nissan Hardbody 4x4. I would also happily own another pre-GM SAAB 900 turbo convertible which is the only car I have ever later replaced with the exact same model.
I would love to go back to a Pontiac G8. Mine was totalled a few years ago and I couldn't find one for sale to replace it. I thought I had moved on, but I'd love to have one again.
I had a couple Plymouth Dusters back in the day. Started with a 225CI 6 cylinder and moved up to a 340CI V8.
I bought a new Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo in 1992. AWD performance cars were unusual back then. Bought a used one about 10 years later.
I've had multiple E-Series Ford vans.
Replaced my 2011 Taurus SHO with a 2014 model - which I still have. The plan was to sell it after buying a BMW M550i last year. While not as fast or refined as the BMW, the Taurus handles better, has more even power delivery (BMW has massive throttle lag on tip-in), and is more engaging to drive.
The ONLY car I would want back is my 72 Mach 1 Mustang I had to sell to bury my first wife and son.
