I actually had a jackstand fail one time. There is a pin that goes into the teeth to keep it up, and it shattered. Luckily, I was not under the car.
Now, I more often than not put a car up on race ramps, one under each tire. But I can only do that if I am doing something under there that does not require pulling the tires off. I also shake the car by hand once it is up to make sure it is going to stay.
Ramps should always be the first choice, they are safer and easier to use. The only reason to use jackstands is if you are removing a wheel or need all 4 corners lifted.

Yes Amazon is remote, thank you for that enlightening information. But are you just posting a random nonsensical word to up your posting count? is there some sort of meaning to this?
Unless one has been locked in a cave for the past decade there is nothing random nor nonsensical about the name "Amazon" when a remote location is cited. The company has the capability of delivering entire catalogs of jack stands and associated equipment to any locations, no matter how remote; even Pahrump, Nevada.

My friend's dad always told us to use wood.....he kept a couple of slices of an old telephone pole on the side of the garage just for that.
