When Dodge put the Hellcat engine in their modern cars, those cars also have all sorts of gizmos to make inexperienced drivers safer. Take that engine and drop it in a classic muscle car and you don’t have those gizmos nor the special suspension and body structure to handle the torque and power this engine puts out. Very easy to lose traction and stability. The speeds it’s capable of doing in an instant can mean a deadly accident for the people in this car and whomever they hit. But if the owner took the car to a performance and defensive driving school he or she would have a safe environment on which to learn how to handle the torque and power this vehicle puts out as well as how to handle the car’s suspension including how to recover should they feel the rear sliding.
Kevins car was only a 70 barracuda body on top of a full hellcat drivetrain. That means it had all the creature comforts, "gizmos" as you call them and safety features. Which is only slight traction control and anti lock brakes. But the way dodge builds them, youre given some latitude to have fun even with all that on, so you still have to know how to drive and not spin the car out.
Youre a car guy, if you actually read about the new dodge muscle cars, you would know this.
Wasnt this clown in another car "accident" a year or so ago? I think he settled with walmart for their truck causing the accident and he got hurt.......Maybe theres more to that story too....

I would never believe in a million years that Kevins body guards would successfully follow him at high speed to catch up to a Cuda, extricate him from the car with a crushed roof, put his friend in the drivers seat before the cops show up, in front of a witness, and bring him home without the local police department saying somethings fishy.
The actual initial news reports would have said "Kevin Harts Cuda wrecked by friend while Kevin has a broken back at home".
there might be a reason why security pulled him off from driver seat and took him home and announced hours later...a sobriety test might not have been welcome...

Have to agree. I've driven one, and the nanny aid's they put on these modern muscle cars make them very easy to drive. You can still lose control sure, but the traction and stability control usually kick in 9 times out of 10 when you do something stupid and prevent a accident.
Often times, when drivetrains are swapped into cars that never had them, such systems are bypassed. Now you are fully dependent on the skill of the operator to keep you out of trouble.
Some people can manage it, other's cant.
I've built older cars without nanny aids to around 350-400HP to the wheels. That's about as comfortable as I felt taking it in those old cars and having a fun driving experience for me personally. However, I've driven a couple of new ~1000HP twin turbo Coyote Mustangs and they are very tame to drive and easy to control. You can still lose your **** in a hurry though so you always need to respect the power
I don't get why the passenger would take the blame for the accident if Hart was driving. He could sue Hart for his injuries and even if Hart was stupid enough not to have a million dollar( at least) insurance policy, Hart would still be good for the money. If he takes responsibility, then he's left to hope that Hart will pay off in an out of court settlement and he's till liable for the damages and his insurance will have to pick up the tab for everyone's medical bills. And insurance companies balk at paying if there's even a slight chance they don't have to.
So how badly hurt is the other driver and has he made a statement?
This is like the "Diff'rent Strokes" episode when Arnold took Mr D's limo for a joyride and crashed it and had Willis take the blame. Its eerily similar.
Insurance investigators and the police would only have to check the drivers seat position to see if it was moved all the way up front or not to see who was driving.
