I loved listening to Car Talk! Ray and Tom were good guys - clever, down to earth and funny.

Car Talk was programming of a quality unmatched by very little on radio or TV - ever. Ray's wit and Tom's laugh - what a combo! And all of that subtle humor built into almost everything, including the credits.

"And even though General Motors car radios ask for a bailout when they hear us say it, this is National Public Radio."

Great memories.

I was POed when my local NPR took it off the Saturday air for something they double on both Saturdays and Sundays. IIRC some other NPRs still carried it a while longer.

I didn't care that they were reruns or they were talking about cars no one drives anymore.

Fortunately I was in the habit of downloading all the podcasts I listened to, and I have tons of old Car Talk recordings. If I could only find them.....
