Are the bargain Android head units worth the cost?

Sure they are considering all the functionality they bring.

But also consider that "black friday" is right around the corner and heavy discounts on name brand units are coming. Especially if you pick up an outgoing model that is still 14 years newer than what you've got. Or even a used unit.

Don't ever buy units with Apps or GPS because those things get outdated and unsupported. Use Bluetooth and have your phone connected.

Because they are expensive to buy and require sometimes very extensive work to add to OEM harness. Not all units have Aux, for example, to add something like KNIVO.

And, with my $83 Pioneer, I am still way ahead in functionality vs those adapters. And price. And I have MOSFET amp and adding to OEM radio gives you just that - OEM radio sound quality.
