That big V6 is the enduring salvation of the Camry. Right engine, wrong car. Presently the best car making proper use of the Camry's V6 is the Lotus Evora.
In my fantasy world, Toyota would build a new MR2, powered by the same V6, but with rear-mid configuration, and of course, RWD.
I wish Station Wagons would make a come back more fun to drive then a CUV ( Due a lower center of gravity) and just as practical plus with the right engine and performance options could make nice family friendly car that is also a total sleeper.

I like station wagons if the design isn't too dorky. I wish the 92 Camry wagon had more sleek along the lines of the Honda Accord wagons and Subarus of the time period.

IMO, the Regal TourX is good looking.
I park next to one almost every day at work. It's darn nice.
I've owned a wagon (a Jagwagon) but the wife doesn't like 'em.
Wouldn't know I wasn't driving a Jaguar X-type sedan unless I looked in the rear view mirror.
It was a very practical car, also good in the snow with AWD.
X-types got trashed by the press, but IMO it was a fine car.

I still find it interesting that Lotus uses Toyota engines!

Toyota has done a superb job with their V6 (and probably their inline-4's too). Thus, it's especially odd that their sports cars - the FR-S and the Supra - both use engines from other manufacturers... and that their most potent engines go into humdrum or bloated (or both) A-to-B machines.
Wouldn't it be lovely if Toyota built but their V6 into the FR-S? And a turbo version into the Supra? And maybe came out with a performance-oriented Corolla, with RWD and a 2.5L 4-cylinder (maybe the one from the base-model Camry)?
But one supposes that there's no market for that...
