I don't know if it had the 12 cylinder engine but my imagination said it did.
I believe that design will still be turning heads 100 years from now, it's timeless. I remember during an anniversary year AutoWeek had a photo of a coupe body-in-white, just the tin, just beautiful.
Earliest exotic I remember was a red Ferrari Enzo. Around winter time in 2004, so it was still a newer car. It was in the middle of a large, poorly light, poorly maintained public parking lot in Glasgow at night. Even more fortunate was the empty parking space next to it. Honestly couldn't believe that someone would leave such a vehicle in this parking lot. Hell we were a bit worried about leaving are newer Rover 75 overnight.
I was a teenager when that happen, but the earliest car experience was around the age of 6 in the mid 90's. Some random guy with a maroon C4 Corvette saw me checking it out with my dad and offered to let me start it, rev as much as I wanted and look around under the hood.
First exotic I ever saw in person was a Ferrari 308 (Magnum PI car.) Must have been like 1981 or 82 when I first started noticing cars.
Most exotic car is a lot harder... I live in Dallas, there are tons of high end cars around here. In the summer I routinely see Ferraris, McLarens and Lamborghinis. I've seen a McLaren F1 commuting to work before if that says anything.
But most exotic, I'd say something even rarer than a McLaren F1. Saw the Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo a few years ago at a car show, only one ever built and none were ever for sale. It's the car you see Bruce Wayne driving in Justice League.
I have a friend who showed me his dad's 1972 DeTomaso Pantera. Not the best car I've ever seen at this point in my life but, it was my first experience with a true exotic and still one of the rarest vehicles I've ever seen. Unique hardly begins to describe it.

1st a new Jaguar XK 150 coupe a neighbor owned.
2nd a Mercedes 300 SL
3rd a a 75 Bricklin SV-1 a friend owned. She was visiting the wife and she tossed me the keys and said bring it back in 4 hrs with a full tank of gas. Not the most exotic, but fun non the less.
This is a tough one. I grew up around cars and don't remember the first exotic I saw. I'm also lucky to work for someone who has a truly unbelievable car collection so, I get to see a lot of cool stuff. F12, 918 spyder, La Ferrari, etc...
I'd say the most exotic car I've seen on the road is the Glickenhaus P4/5. I'm guessing it was Jim Glickenhaus driving it but, it blew my mind that he was actually driving it on the highway heading towards NYC in the rain. Questioning the sanity of facing NYC potholes in a 1 of 1 multimillion dollar rolling work of art but, major respect for someone actually using the car and showing they don't melt in the rain.
I've also been fortunate enough to sit in a McLaren F1 but, it was a race car not a street car so, I'm not counting it as an "exotic".
When I was a teenager--which was many decades ago--I saw a Bugatti exiting from the Holland Tunnel in Jersey City, NJ. It was just a very brief sighting, but it was unmistakably a classic Bugatti. It was in "rough" shape but it was clearly road-worthy and was being driven fairly fast.
Several months later, in the town of Cranbury, NJ, I saw what was obviously the same Bugatti parked in somebody's driveway, and I was able to study it more closely. I believe it was a Type 55, from the 1930s. I wonder whatever happened to it.

I had a college buddy who had one. I was riding with him when he took a corner at 55MPH, virtually no body roll. Handled like it was on rails. Now I probably couldn't get in and out of one, as close as they are to the ground.
Most exotic thing I have ever seen is probably a Ferrari F40. A local dealer had a new one in the showroom, salesman was really accommodating, even took down the velvet ropes around it so that I could photograph it.
