90% of the vehicles I have owned in my life were manuals. My current vehicle is a Tesla. I don’t fit your narrative.

I’m Gen Xer and a bunch of people I grew up with never learned to drive a manual. This has been a long slow death.

Really....
Who really wants either? (New buyers)

This is absolutely no surprise, and to be expected. Since it is quite difficult to find a vehicle with manual transmission in USA, manf will build what is cheapest for them, and they can sell the most of. Planned obsolescence is pure planned money for manf. (EV and Auto tranny= replacement revenue.). EZ buck for manf.

Just like shopping at Walmart, unique and high quality is no where to be found, when the items you actually need were readily available for <$1 at the hardware store which Walmart caused to go broke....

Generic consumers rejoice! Yes, I hear that choir! They are playing the "March of Conformance".

I will keep my offensive slurs to myself but I really want to let them fly.

That doesn’t say much really. I think less than 5% of cars sold today even come with standard shift transmissions. Standard shifts are going the way of the dodo

Maybe in the US; certainly not world wide.

Yea, it'll vary greatly from country to country since EV sales and manual transmission vehicle sales can vary greatly from country to country.

You should work harder and move yourself into a better location where you don't have to worry about car theft. Car theft is more prevalent in lower income, lower educated, and higher crime ridden areas. If you're stuck in this area, then maybe anti-theft devices are very important. But it's better to get yourself out of the area you are stuck in.

More manufacturers would offer vehicles with manual transmissions if not for the separate testing and certification costs. I blame the US government.
