Doesn't matter where you live, either. Carvana specializes in them and they deliver.
We have had ours 4 years and it is still fun to be the lead car at the stoplight on the parkway. I'd have a tough time getting rid of it.

I'd consider it as a pricey toy if it's under $1200... that's around the cost of my road bike. Neither replaces a real car w room for passengers and cargo but can be used for local errands and avoid the need to go to a gas station. At $20k, that's how much I paid out of pocket for my new Toyota Prius Prime ... I concur w others that there isnt a logical reason to buy this unless people just have money to burn.

It's a reincarnated BMW Isetta with a battery instead of a smoky single-cylinder ICE motor.

*edit, oops, the Isetta had four wheels, the rear two are close together, like a dually truck.

It's like all the disadvantages of a motorcycle with none of the advantages. But it is vegan friendly so there's that.

Saved some time, but having to change in and out of full protective kit at each end of the trip ate into that. And rainy days meant taking your life into your hands.

Good fun on week-ends, so there was that.
Does depend. The Ninja 250 had similar operating costs to something like a Corolla. But yeah, it wasn't a lot cheaper and it was a Ninja 250. Something like a basic 500, like the Honda CB500F) would probably cheaper. While it didn't really cost me anything to sync the carbs and adjust the valves but it took some time. The service interval for the valves was check every 6,000 but I never really did that. Pretty much like clockwork between 8-10k the valves needed adjusting and carbs synced. Rates are pretty absurd. One time I got busy and took it to a shop. $600 to adjust the valves, sync the carbs, change the oil, clean and adjust chain, lube and tighten cables, and some other basic minor things -- typical yearly or bi-yearly maintenance on a well maintained, basic bike in a high labor rate area. They're a lot more maintenance intensive than a Corolla where you pretty much just change the oil which either costs money or costs time. Anything you save in gas you just pay for in maintenance.
