Best gas is the freshest. Go to a reputable station that turns lots of product and you will have zero issues. Regardless of brand.

Now days it is all close to the same, usually the way you get bad gas now is if the station owner buys a load of transmix which of course is illegal to do but it happens from time to time. Back in the 70's we just blended Napatha, added butane for vapor pressure and pumped in some no-knox, that was some bad stuff, it would plug your muffler

I don't really notice any performance differences with the various brands of gas I buy. Even the ARCO gas (which tends to have a bad reputation here in CA) doesn't make my car perform any worse or better than another brand, like Mobil or Shell.

I guess one really wouldn't notice much of a difference until your vehicle gets older such as mine. Then you really start to notice the knocks and pings and will then perhaps notice the differences a little more.
I don't notice much difference if I purchase the same grade from different stations but more if I get the lower grades,then I really notice!
