The Kia Niro hybrid does not have the cooled seats option. It has ventilated seats. That's why you aren't feeling the "cooling" sensation.

The dealer options list for the car says "cooled front seats." My fault for thinking that meant A/C instead of just a fan

Their website says ventilated: https://www.kia.com/us/en/niro/specs-compare

Not sure if you have the plugin hybrid but here's that link: https://www.kia.com/us/en/niro-plug-in-hybrid

"Other available comforts include a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.2"

Heated/ventilated seats front and rear plus heated wheel in my Jeep. Love them.

Great in the winter since the heated drivers seat and wheel turn on when you remote start if it's under 40, ventilated turns on if it's over 70. Handy in the summer since it's black leather, it'll burn the thighs if you don't watch it and forget to start the car a few minutes before getting in.

Downside...my heated seats get warm QUICK. I've had a few cases where it went from "ahh, that's nice" to swamp butt in 0.0825 seconds. Gotta remember to turn it down after a few minutes haha.

LOL...

I've heard they can potentially turn your hide to leather but was unaware of "swamp butt"...

Thanks again to all for providing all the input and info...

Heated seats, yes.
Heated steering wheel, yes.
Cooled / ventilated seats, only if it's got black leather, which I never buy.
Wife's car has ventilated seats with a light interior because they're standard.

Default We have both in both cars, I like the cooled part, wife likes both

Im in North Texas where summers are hot and winters can be a joy. I am the primary driver in both vehicles. I like the cooling feature. The heating feature is one my wife enjoys most as she has RA and lots of times warm helps how she feels and can move.

One of my vehicles has cool or heat automatically turn on based upon cabin temperature. The other requires action to turn either of these on. I admit I do like the heated steering wheel and seat option in the Lexus since I do not have to turn it on or turn it off when the cabin is up to a comfy temp. I rarely take the trouble to turn this feature on in my Infiniti SUV as the extremes just do not justify it but knew my wife would like it and it was part of a package bundle that had other features I wanted.
