Been using some of their products and getting really good results with some of the Mirror Glaze stuff (#2, #7 this time.)

I bought a LOT of stuff.. These two things seem to have done something.

What is your opinion of Meguiar's vs other things?

I don't really buy Mother's anymore....

I have used too many brands that I care to remember and none have stood out. I have used Meguiar's Plastic Restorer Black paste on black trims but the shine didn't even last a day.

I've owned black cars for DECADES, so I'm always looking for a really good product. I've used MANY different brands of waxes, including the original, Simonize paste, and Collinite paste. However, as many of us know, automotive paints have evolved, and so have waxes. About 10 years ago, I got my hands on a sample of Surf City Garage's 2 step deal, "Nano Seal/Nano Glaze", and have been using it ever since, in conjunction with their "Speed Demon" spray detailer.

Peugeot at one time issued a service bulletin recommending a paint additive called Penetrol made by the Flood Co. for black trim, you basically clean the trim, brush on a light coat, let sit, and wipe off, repeat as needed.

Holds up pretty well and usually available at places like Home Depot.

I long ago gave up on the mass marketed stuff at the retail counters.

Meguiar's isn't a bad product line, but I can get better products for less cost at the professional suppliers targeted to the auto detail industry. Some of them are private label, some are major name brands, some are marketed only to the pro's and names that you won't find at the retail counters.

OTOH, if you're happy using Meguiar's products ... so be it.

Peanut oil seems to work just as well.
