So I got my transmission rebuilt for 7k, yes 7k and my transmission is slipping again, however when I called Ammco who had done my transmission they said they are gonna to charge me extra because I didn’t tell them I had a transfer case issue but when they got my truck they should of knew about the transfer case issue. They did a diagnostic test. My 4lo light was on back then to and I had no idea what that meant. Is it true that ammco doesn’t have to honor my warranty? It’s been less then 5 weeks and I got my transfer case fixed at a local shop because I don’t trust them. They even tried to sell me a brake job to which I did the brakes on my truck less then a year ago. Can I sue them if they won’t honor there warranty especially since it’s been only 5 weeks and my transmission is not acting right.
ok I have to ask, WTH is this in? unless you say MB or Rolls, 7K will buy you a new one (the 10L90E performance is $5800 new for example)
Sadly, this is a rape scenario
I am just sick that I paid so much money and my transmission is still slipping. I don’t know what to do but I’m going to talk real stern to them tomorrow.
You are probably SOL. The shop that replaced your transmission may not honor the warranty because you took the truck to another shop for even more repairs. The truck has been altered since it left the Ammco shop. Obviously, the transfer case and the transmission affect each other. Ammco can claim they can't be held responsible for what another shop may have done to the truck. You should have taken it right back to Ammco as soon as you started having more trouble with it and demand they honor their warranty. Lesson learned OP.
Transmission is slipping. I have no faith in ammco and I’m going to try my best to get back at them because they should have known the transfer case issue when did the diagnosis test. It said written on the invoice that they have done that yet they couldn’t figure that out while changing the transmission plus 7k seems like an absurd amount for a tranny replacement.

You can sue anyone for anything if you can find a lawyer willing to take the case. If you go to small claims court the limit is $5,000 but no lawyer needed. Your problem is that neither you nor a lawyer has any proof that they were negligent in their rebuilding of the transmission, since work was done on the transfer case after they did their work. If nothing else you would need an expert witness to testify after evaluating your transmission and transfer case and that work will only add to your costs.
Anyway, I'd have to read the warranty before speculation on the poster's problem.
