- is it worth it to detail a car if one does not have a garage?
- how often do you guys detail your cars?
- is it practical or even "heard of" to detail your car if you drive it 4-7 times a day (even for minor trips, not totalling 3-4 miles each trip)?
- for those who've paid to have your car detailed, how much did it cost?
- how long does a quality detailing "last?"

thanks

If you don't have a garage that's all the more reason to keep it detailed. Keeping a good coat of wax on it will protect it from acid rain and make dirt come off easier when it's time for a wash. Using a product like ArmorAll on the interior will also help protect it from sunlight and keep the plastics from drying out.

don't use anything like armor-all on the interior, actually. products like that just add grease, which attracts dirt and dust by the way, and speed up the uv breakdown process. just keep the interior clean with a spray of water, or maybe a light spray of windex, and a microfiber cloth.

i dont get to detail my car as often as i used to; kids and work have me tied down. but i clay-bar both cars twice per year and wax mine at least every other month; my wife's maybe 3 times per year using a longer lasting (but not quite as shining) product. inside i clean as above and vacuum. if you've got leather, use a quality leather cleaner and conditioner a few times per year.

a quality professional detail job should run you $100 or so, more if your car is hellishly filthy. that'd be something you'd do annually at most, then wash and wax on your own.
