A friend had just sent me an article from Automotive Engineering about Honda GP Motorcycle engineering in the past and included an obit of former world speed record holder Craig Breedlove who died on April 4, 2023. Kinda surprised me I hadn't herard of this anywhere. I haven't been to Bonneville during race week but stopped coming back from CA once, fascinating place.

I remember his name from the TV and newspaper headlines in the 1960s when he broke the 500 & 600 mph land speed records on the Bonneville Salt Flats. He was certainly a legend at that time, but haven't seen his name in the news in decades.

I was just surprised that the obit my friend sent me from a NJ newspaper was almost a full page yet I hadn't heard of his passing on any of the racing (maily F1) sites I visit regularly.
