After moving here, I drove back several times over the next few months while selling the house in California, and probably 3-4 times drive straight through, just stopping for gas and drive-through meal. That was 14 hours, 825 miles.
Anyone who's done more than 700 ish miles in a day is extremely lucky they didn't harm themselves or anyone else.
Amen
My cap is 6 hours. Although we did drive 9 hours, 569 miles on Jan 1st because we wanted as many miles as possible on the way to Florida while traffic was light and no trucks. The next day was a *****! Traffic and trucks!!!
New Years Day, no traffic at all, but Buckee's was MOBBED!!!!!!!!!!!!
If a day is considered 24 hours, then the answer is around 1600 miles. From Fort Collins CO to Oceanside CA to Las Cruces NM in one fell swoop. The next day I did another roughly 1600 miles. From Las Cruces NM to Charleston SC.
One of the dumbest things I ever did. Should have gone straight from Fort Collins CO to Charleston SC and skipped Oceanside CA. But I wanted to see someone in Oceanside. She wasn't there.
This was all done driving a 1965 Corvette. Then I did my next dumbest thing, traded the Corvette for a 1972 Buick.
The longest I have gone non-stop ( except for gas and meals ) was 2400 miles, from Gardena CA to Leesburg Va, in a 1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V. But there were two drivers and we took turns. And it took two days.
As an ex-old Vette owner, I'd have to say you've got the dumbest and next dumbest in the wrong order. LOL
Left NY LaGuardia, landed in Philly, drove to Fredric Maryland to pick up a dog I has having bred, then on to Fort Payne Alabama, a little over 800 miles....crazy!
The furthest I've driven in a day or otherwise was around 1000 miles, but I recently moved my son to Jax and didn't want to stay overnight so I drove over 760ish miles in 11.5 hours.
