So what all cars are now made in the USA? And what all is not? (vehicle, Japanese)

Interested in knowing what autos are being made in the USA? And which ones are not?

As I seem to understand, most foreign makes are now built with pride in the USA whereas most american makes are not built with pride somewhere else....???

Please fill me in on what is now made in the US and what is not, and where it's made.

Also if possible please let me know when which foreigh autos become US built.

we bought a new saturn last week. on the window sticker(perhaps this is cali only, i dont know), it specified the origin of the vehicle, where it was built, where the engine and drivetrain was built, and what % of parts came from which countries. i saw this at each dealership i went to

AFIK all the US makers are using at least some foreign parts. I think the upper-end Japanese makes are 100% Japanese parts, Japanese assembled, but not certain. BMW generally uses Japanese A/C compressors for example. Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and BMW all have US assembly plants (although I think the parts are built in their home countries). As bhcompy notes, new cars have country of origin stickers.

When i go shopping for a new car I want to make sure I don't buy something built in Brazil or Mexico by a bunch of monkeys.

In the old days GM, Ford and Chrysler meant you were buying quality.

I am sorry but that statement is far from the truth. The Ford's, Chevy's, and Chryslers that my parents owned were all problematic. They couldn't buy quality.

Please list what year, make and model your parents had. I'm sure it's not the same as what mine had. or still do own.

You should look at the VIN and use the decoder. Though it won't tell you the percentage of foreign content.

I second that. Just look at the first digit of the VIN to see where a vehicle was assembled.

1 or 4 = USA
2 = Canada
3 = Mexico
J = Japan
K = Korea
