Yesterday the price here was $4.79 for regular and I was wondering if and ever we would see the price go down. Well, today I was quite surprised to see that the price went down 10¢ to $4.69 for regular. Premium has been at $4.99 for several weeks and it is now at $4.89. The price is still high, but 10 cents is still 10¢
The only way you're going to put a dent in the oil tycoons pocket is to use less of their product. That means you might have to limit how much you drive, or start walking.
But not everyone is going to follow this logic because most of america are spoiled and need to drive a 10 mile per gallon SUV to commute a carpool of one on a 50 mile daily commute. So that in itself is what helps keep the prices at what they are now.
What gives? the price for a barrel of oil drops $10 and yet there is no movement at all on the price at the pump. Yet the price per barrel goes up just a dollar and immediatly its up five cents at the pump. how about giving us a fri*kin break even if it is for a day!@!!
Gas prices have come down recently.
It's hard to imagine as angry as you are that you are rationally observing oil prices and comparing to gas prices...and thats not always going to be a 1:1 comparison. Take some deep breaths, drive less if you can.
Lastly, take some personal responsibility people. The laws of supply and demand do work...crying because you want twice as much oil at the same price is ignorant. Maybe instead of the oil execs, we could line up the people that chose to live 50miles from work and get 15mpg?
Im sorry but when gas prices in Saudi Arbia are 12 cents a gallon there is no reason why they should be $4 over here. if supply is running so slow why is it that the Saudis and every other nation over there has gas at such low prices. Maybe if we would have drilled over here 20 years ago prices could have been cut in half
We can blame all of this crap on the environmentalists and the democrats that backed them up. God help us if that Obama gets elected it'll get worse I have no doubt.
I am riding bike and walking for everything I can. I've seen more and more folks in our town riding bikes lately, good exercise too. We all need to quit whining about it and start drilling as well as looking to reduce the cost of alternatives.
I'm not talking about taxes so much as the blocking of opening up new drilling areas. I also think more Dems are opposed to building more nuclear plants than republicans. We need to use every energy source we can to try to wean us off this huge oil habit.

I dont get why, when truckers are hurting, food prices are climbing they oppose getting oil we can from here. I dont know how much oil we have here but im sure it is enough to drop the prices of gas some what.
