But as I always say, it's your right to do as you please.
Technically the vehicle (pictured above) isn't a "HUMMER" either, If I want a "HUMMER" and feel bad a** about it I'd hit the Gov surplus sales. I'm guessing since the photo's from wikipedia you don't own either model.

Frankly I wouldn't want anything remotely spawned by GM.

maybe it has Chevy components, and or a similar engine to a chevy. But HUMMER DESIGNED IT to be able to do amazing off roading, there for its different, trail blazers arent designed for that. Its that simple. I believe that if hummer makes it, its good. I own an h3 and its incredible off road, and i off road frequently, im 19 years old too, im a kid, but i worked at a hummer dealership for 2 and a half years so im not one of those stupid "image" teenagers. I know a thing or two about the car i drive. Its a hummer, i love h1's, they kick ass. But any hummer is a hummer and anyone should be proud of which ever number of hummer they drive because they ALL kick ass. No one should be tryin to crap out anyone else, you own a hummer, you own an off roading kick ass machine. end of story.

I think off roading has to do more with knowing what you are doing by knowing approach angles and departure angles you can pretty much take a 2wd over most things but then again I drive this 91 F-250 in winter and to tow our boat.

"Thats like saying Ford builds the Cobra, my Escort is amazing fast too..."

You're almost right.

AM General started making High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (or Humvees) for the U.S. Army in 1983. They started building the civilian models (or Hummers) in 1992. In 1999, General Motors acquired exclusive ownership of the Hummer brand name and the marketing rights from AM General, but AMG still continues to manufacture the H1 Hummers for the civilian market. The H2 is GM's own version of the original Humvee, and it is built on GM Suburban frame. The H3 is built on the GM Colorado frame.

How patriotic, the new commie mobile. I'd be more proud of the Trailblazer.

Basically, right now, GM is offering incentives and employee discount bringing an H3 to about 23K!

I know it doesn't get the best gas mileage, but, that is an incredible deal, and would help me get out from under my Saturn Ion.

Anyone here have one? Pros and cons?
well, it's not the ****ty gas mileage that i would be concerned about. it's the fact that you will be percieved as a douche bag. i am assuming that youre a female. this is based on the fact that youre interested in an H3. i know people who own H3's. friends of mine, in fact. and let's just say - i wasnt suprised to see them getting an H3.

H3's and to a lesser extent, H2's are really just a white trash status symbol. H3's are generally driven by women who want to be seen driving a Hummer, and desire to feel economically superior to those around them when sitting in traffic.

not to mention the fact that they are pretty damned uncomfortable, given their narrow, uncomfortable seats and massively wide center console. the H3's though are at least a little more practical than the H1's and H2's in that they're not 3 feet wider than everything else on the road.

so, in closing, if you really like it (really?) and you really want it - get it. but just know that those sneers you get arent out of jeolousy. people are just thinking, "man, what a douche-bag"

I always thought it funny that the public perception is that if you drive an H3 you're a jerk, but if you drive a Toyota FJ Cruiser that gets the same mpg, you're okay.

White?

Most I've seen are tricked out with rims, tinted windows and such but I've only seen one white dude driving one. Maybe that is just SD.

good point. but it's still trash. the young black guys are probably trying to live out the headonistic images dipicted in hip-hop videos. older black guys probably trying to impress the younger black guys (and girls). i figured the black guys would be more into H2's though.

i still bet the OP is a white woman, though.

If you think you're crazy, you probably are.

As for an H3, git it if you want it.
