Toyota ia starting the rear window airbag for their up-coming IQ micro-car. For small cars like that, you'll need all the airbags you can cover yourself in an event of a crash.

Talk about lawsuits if those airbags did cause more damage then entended!

A dirty little secret that nobody seems to want to discuss is how often permanent hearing damage results from airbag deployment. It's as though nobody considered the impact that rapidly increasing the air pressure inside a small closed cabin might have on delicate eardrums. I really wish we'd stop putting so much emphasis on passive safety when we could do so much to improve driver safety.
