I have a 1989 Mitsubishi Montero. Its my beater. It resides at my place of business, I had to jumpstart it one day and inadvertently left it running. It over heated. I took it to a mechanic who told me it had a blown head gasket. Still runs great as long water levels are maintained. Coolant is not mixed with the oil and it doesn't blow steam out of the tail Pipe. Water / coolant dripping / pouring from rear section of engine bay. Second opinion mechanic told me its the water pump. Does anyone have experience or knowledge about this? What do you think the problem is? I'm trying to decide if I should just Scrap the car out or gamble on the water pump theory.
