Amazing video footage....of how this person doesn't take their foot off the gas....when sliding on a snowy road.
Wow. Words escape me.
Reminded me of when I was in Colorado Springs. I'm caught in the middle of a snow storm and driving my Torino ...doing about 10 miles an hour... and I see this yahoo coming up on me, doing about 40-45. I'm thinking "Dude, we're like 200 yards from the red light." and about 50 feet from the light, I see the brakes come on. I've already slowed to a crawl...I know what's going to - yep - KAPOW! - He nails the car in front of him. And then his truck and her car shuffle over and smacks the vehicle in the other lane. I wonder if said yahoo blamed the snow.
Dumbasses. Nothing can protect you from intentional dumbassery.
I love, love, love driving in snow... when there's nobody else around anyway. I wish I had the roads to myself when it snowed so that I could do some four-wheel pimpsliding around corners without hitting anyone. I sorely miss my WRX when it snows....
I for one cannot wait for the big snow storms! It is such a thrill to drive when there is weather warnings all over the radio and TV. Another nice thing is that I tuck my creampuff cars away in storage and bring out the beast! The tools of the trade for winter driving are kept in a box in my trunk.... Tow straps, come-alongs, tire chains, additional fuel, spotlight, jumper cables and various tools.
Hop in during a storm... blast the heat (which gets red hot), blast the tunes and brave the storm!
I prefer to drive in snow over rain. I live just south of the snow belt and last year we had a record 90 inches. Not a big deal to me. I have 4WD, but only use it in blizzard conditions or when the roads haven't been plowed or salted. I think i only used it once last year. Bring on the snow!
Snow driving is not a big deal when you have a Subaru. Every other car around here is a Subaru, and they are quite possibly one of the best cars ever for driving in snow.
