When my parents bought my car in December of last year, it had about 43,000 miles on it. I am just now about to go to 50,000 miles. I try not to drive a lot.
I have a 1996 Saab that I bought June 2007 with 56,000 miles.
Now, in November 2008 it has 88,000 miles. I am hoping to squeeze a couple hundred thousand out of this car.
My 1987 Honda Accord LX has 255,000 miles on the original engine. I do my own routine maintenance, change the oil/filter every 3k, and do a major tune up once a year. It still gets 29-30mpg around town, and 38-40mpg hiway. Everything still works, the A/C is cold, carpets, seat material, and headliner are in beautiful condition. We took a 3000+ mile trip from Tulsa to San Diego last month averaging 38.8mpg. The valve guides are getting a bit worn though, requiring a 1/2 quart of oil for the trip. Not bad service for a 22 year old car with a 1/4 million miles on her.
I have a 2003 Trailblazer 4WD, bought new in the fall of '02, it has about 53,000 miles on it. I get oil changes every 3k miles, so far no problems, just replaced the tires and brakes and rotors last summer. Good as new.
I drive an 06 Honda Ridgeline truck, I bought it in July of 05 and have just over 20,000 on it. I only do about 50 miles a week and in the winter less than that, sometimes less than 20.
My 93 S-10 just turned over 180k a few days ago. Still starts and runs and drives just dandy. Has the little puny 6 and 5 speed manual. And people say American cars and trucks are junk. Gee how did mine last?
