I've been told the Duramax diesel is made by Isuzu....any truth to that?

And AMEN on the 6.0 "Powerstroke"....what a steaming pile! We bought 100 ('06 model) rear engine school buses with that motor (called the VT-365 in trucks and buses). These are rear-engine, air conditioned 78 passenger buses that cost almost 100 grand a pop. After many, many recalls and tow truck trips to the International dealer, they're running a little longer between breakdowns....but what junk! I read that Ford is suing International for all the warranty dollars that motor has cost them.

Fortunately, the following year's buses were only available with the DT-466 six banger.....a very good motor that has been in production for 30 some years. No problems with them.

Yes the original Duramax was a joint venture between Isuzu and GM. That is ending as we type. The new 4.5L duramax is all GM and the 6.6 is too for the most part.

Yes...those 6.0 owners around here can't give their trucks away....It's almost as bad as the Chev 6.5 curse....When gas first went up a lot of folks pawned their 6.5 trucks off on people that knew absolutely nothing about diesel pickups and thought all diesels got good fuel mpg/lasted a million miles and a lot of people took a deep screwing for not knowing any different....You would see those 6.5 trucks on ebay with 20 bids on them 5 times higher than they were worth and just cringe because you knew some poor guy was getting ready to waste his hard earned money.
