Just wanted to know from the experts. i bought a 1993 Honda Accord for $9,439 from a local autodealer.

its fairly clean and has 239k miles on it,which isnt to bad considering its age....i got it at a discount says the salesman which i was happy for

the only real problems are it makes a buzzing and thumping sound loud enough to hear outside of the car when going under 30. the car looks decent but has a different color hood on it but it looks like a racing car the way the grey hood looks, kind of like i made it custom....the only repair it needs is the gas tank, it has a small leak, a small trickle and when i leave my driveway in the morning at least a quart of gas is on the driveway but i intend to get it fixed within the month because of gas prices....and other than the fact i have a non working stereo and am missing my spare tire and jack the car seems fine

overall im excited about my new car....i welcome any opinions

That doesn't seem like a good deal to me, since you asked. $10k for a 16 year old Accord with almost 250k miles? I'd think you could get two for that price and condition...

OMG, tell me "was the salesman's lips moving when he said it'll last to 2030"? Oh also did he put that in writing? What a flippen joke, no one, even a salesman with a brand new car can make a stupid statment such as that..22 years from now, come on....wake up..

You're kidding us all, right, about making this purchase?

a 1993 239,000 mile Accord with some serious low speed noises, a leaking gas tank, non-operating sound system .... and some replaced bodywork that doesn't even match the car?

in our local marketplace ... the Rocky Mountain Front range ... it's maybe a $1,000 car. IF it was all fixed up and running straight, maybe a $2,000- $2,5000 car. It's still an older car with a limited remaining usable service life .....

Did you even pull up the KBB or NADA numbers on this car before you made the deal?

Did you have an independent mechanical inspection to verify the car's major mechanical components before making the deal? Or did you just take the saleman's word that these cars (in general), and this one, specifically ... achieve high mileage without much maintenance or component replacement?
