That $10K was mostly Chrysler incentives.

I guess it could be a good deal if Chrysler suddenly put $20K of incentives on the car for the dealership.

Wouldn't surprise me. Pacificas cost what, $40K loaded? I highly doubt it costs them that much to build it.

Carmax is buying PT Cruisers in Excellent condition for $7000 trade in value so if this was true people would go sell the Car to carmax. Obviously a gimmick, a dealer could get some value of the PT Cruiser.

Also if I'm not mistaken, the base PT Cruiser with manual transmission is a shade under $10K..

Looks like I was mistaken. Back in 2006 you could get a PT Cruiser for $10K after incentives, the invoice was around $12K.. the invoice prices have been inflated since then.

Oh but wait.. the article misses a little detail. Buy a Pacifica, and for $1 you get a used Cruiser. Perhaps a dealer demo?

I wish this was happening with houses. While prices are coming down, houses are still overpriced in a lot of cities. But a 2-for-1 deal would be great.

You could buy a whole block in Youngstown, Ohio and it would still be cheaper than one in most cities.

There was a 2008 Chevy Malibu (the redesigned model) for less than 10,000 advertised in the paper. I'm not sure of the mileage but wow...a 2008 vehicle for less than 10,000.
