I miss my 93 Dodge W250 diesel. It rode like a brick, and the breaks never worked right, but it sounded cool, 4.10 gears, 5 speed manual, could pull anything I asked, and got 17 mpg no matter what. After 11 years and 138000 miles I traded it in, in 2004 and I still see it on the road-it kills me.
that my grandfather gave me in 1982 when it had only 32,000 miles on it. It had a 225 6, was tan, had power steering but non power drum brakes(ugh!!). Auto torque flite trans, ugly bare bones upholstery. It developed starting problems and the starter often had to be tapped with a screwdriver and the car started shifting strangely. When i put STP gas treatment and marvel mystery oil in the tank the problem mysteriously stopped but by then my dad ordered me to sell it and gave me their 75 Buick Regal to drive instead
we also had a 71 Duster that was a more luxurious version of the first--power disc brakes, split front seats with a fold down center armrest, nicer upholstery, car was olive green. in the blizzard of feb 78 the car was encased in a cube of ice and had to be towed out. it's believed that the tow out weakened the suspension because in the summer of 79 the suspension just snapped on us rendering the car unfixable. it was a shame because the car was trouble free and a real workhorse
this is a funny story, in the fall of 78 the car would suddenly stall for no apparent reason. upon inspection by the mechanic it was found that the air cleaner was clogged with these odd looking brown pellets. the mechanic showed the pellets to my dad and he eventually traced it to squirrels who were getting into our trash bins and bringing discarded dog food kibbel into the air cleaner and storing it there when the engine was still warm in the cold winter months in the garage. i don't remember exactly how the squirels got into the garage but it had something to do with the pails being out during trash pickup days. there was some type of opening from the outside which we sealed up, permitting them to get into the garage with the food.
those dusters were popular even with the rodents!!!

My second favorite car would have been my 1974 Plymouth Duster. My mom gave it to me in 1980 and it had 36,000 miles on it. It was blue and had a 318 engine. I traded that car in for a 1979 Camaro and got $800 for it. Man was I young and dumb back then. The Camaro could not hold a candle to my Al Bundy Special
I had a 1974 Ford Mustang Cobra II 5.2 4 speed V8 last year.It was all black with 2 gold stripes down the middle.I really miss that car because it was my first ever American muscle car.
I definitely regret selling my 1956 Ford Fairlane for $300.
