Unless you own a business and can write it off as an operating expense, IMHO there is absoutely no financial advantage to leasing. All car leases do is to make a ton of money for the leasing company.

With residual values on cars cratering because of the economy good leases (and many do not feel any lease is good) are harder to come by. Why not look into a pre-certified or used car given the price drops? Opinions vary on this but I have bought two pre-owned cars, both were japanese, and both were/are working out fine. Then you avoid paying for the huge price drop as a new car leaves the lot. Good luck to you.
The only American car I like is the Dodge Magnum and at $24k to buy new, $400/Mo lease, $15k used and on top of it all it's a gas guzzler it just isn't practical. I have never owned an American car and the people I know who have regret it. So aside from saving jobs why should I buy an inferior product?
By the way - I know those people need Americans to buy American but the industry needs to realize that American cars aren't worth what they cost and I need affordable, reliable and efficient...
You are buying into the stigma-that American=Crap. This is false.
My Aunt and Uncle bought a brand new Toyota recently. It's been back to the dealer more times than it's been on the road. As a former mechanic, I can say with confidence that most, not all, but most models of American cars are just as good as foreign cars.
And as far as fuel economy, same thing, they are within a few mpg of their Asian competitors. Some actually beat the competition. We're talking cars here not suv's and V8 hot rods etc...A Magnum is considered a performance vehicle, even though it looks like a station wagon
Just do a little more research before you condemn American cars.
