I am really liking this Satellite Radio concept. I can pick music by genre, listen to comedy shows or the news.

I am on a 3 month trial period (came with the SUV).

I am debating on which plan to subscribe.

SIRIUS Satellite Radio - More Packages

Sirius Everything Plus 16.99/mo
Sirius Everything 12.99/mo
Family Friendly Plus 14.99/mo
Family Friendly 11.95/mo
Mostly music 9.99/mo
News, Sports, Talk 9.99/mo
A la carte Gold 14.99/mo
A la care 6.99/mo

I am leaning towards Sirius Everything (upper middle of the packages), 2 years for 245 dollars - I don't know if they will be around beyond 2 or 3 years.

Do you use satellite radio? Which plan do you use?

Well, I only listen to music, but I think we pay about 16.99 a month.

Wow, I didn't realize there were so many Sirius packages! I have been an XM subscriber since the beginning and don't think I could live without it (actually I know I cannot as our GLI has it and our XC70 does not and I prefer the GLI for this reason). Of course, I complain about the XM stations repeating songs, and the quality of the sound comes and goes (compression and all that), but overall I'm very happy with it. I usually listen to various current hits, pop, dance, chill, and news stations (like NPR, CNBC, etc.). I have my ipod as a backup, but just find it is easier to move through the channels on satellite than run through a 1000 songs on the ipod (safer too, LOL).

My one wish is to have the channels change faster. Because it has to reach the satellite or repeater each time, it takes a few seconds. That, and some of the car stereos just really aren't well-designed (make it hard to move through categories/genres so you tend to just listen to your presets and not experiment). My old SkyFi boombox interface is the model of simplicity.

I LOVE Sirius. I always say that it is the best thing I have purchased in years.

I mostly listen to Howard Stern, unless going on a long trip, though

I like listening to it at work, also- online. I preferred Sirius to the XM/Sirius combo, but I'm getting used to it.

Have XM since it came out in all my vehicle's and would not be without it. I was helping a friend paint there office and we were listening to local radio stations and it reminded me of why I have satellite radio.

Too much DJ yakking on the 50s and 60s channels, I want just the music not the jerk flapping his jibs.

It's nice though to get NPR wherever I go.

It's evil. I also was given the 3 month subscription of XM for free and I had no intention of subscribing. But then I got addicted. It's so much better than regular radio and the same boring cds or ipod playlist. Then they gave me three more months for 12 bucks (total)...by the end of six months, I was hooked.

Just get the everything. If you buy it by the year, it boils down to like 10 bucks a month. With a 50 mile round-trip commute, it's worth it to me.

Also evil...OnStar. Again, given a year free. Didn't intend to renew. Now I'm hooked on the dang OnStar. You can get those people to do anything! Directions, phone numbers, look stuff up on the internet for you...make phone calls...it's like having a dang personal assistant in your car!
