One thing what I also loved about the Grand Ville's is they look pretty similar to the Buick Electra's yet they still distinctive looking vehicles, I didn't think much of the Bonneville's/Catalina's of the same era at all.
I can remember as a kid one of our neighbors had a Grand Ville and they kept that car for years... It was tan with a tan vinyl top... I thnk it was a 1975...

The Marquis was always a favorite of mine... My dad had a couple of those (71 and 74) and I recently found the window stickers for them... They were just around 6k.... I'd love to buy a new car for 6 grand today
slick looking 73 pontiac... That C-body roofline and skirts made those Grand Ville's look much better IMO than the bonneville and catalina's
Thanks. Yeah I think so to. Also the Grand Ville was kinda unique, because it had the roofline of the Ninety-Eight, Electra and DeVille, but had the shorter wheelbase like the LeSabre/Delta 88/Impala/Caprice, etc. I like the Grand Ville roofline better, but I do like the roofline of the 4dr hardtop Catalina/Bonneville.
Side note, I may be buying a 1975 Pontiac Grand Safari wagon. (Grand Ville wagon). Its a tank.

That is a very sweet car, does it have wood panelling and a 455 big block V8?

Sounds cool.... you'll be like the Brady Bunch, although they drove a Kingswood Estate (caprice wagon)...

yeah they came with the 455 and most came with the woodgrain... there were a very few without it (but those were really rare to find)... Most of the non-woodgrain models were Bonneville edition not the Grand Ville edition of the Grand Safari)...
I really like these old land yatchs. I think here the New Yorker Brougham takes it. I really like the Monaco and 72 Marquis front ends. I would have liked to seen the Marquis center boxed out a bit more and the Monaco sloped down at a sharper and longer angle in the front.
i had a 78 and 79 a few years ago I fixed up... those things were awesome to cruise around in... just the mpg was around 8-10, so they weren't very economical to use....

I thought the Brady Bunch drove a Mopar station wagon
I'm a GM fanboy but the hideaway lights on the Fords win me over!
