I just listened to some nationally-syndicated automobile talk show on Sunday, and they mentioned the used-car market glut.
According to the host, during the great gas price jump last year, people purchased small, econo-boxes in droves. Now gas is down, people don't like them, or haven't gotten used to them, and are selling them. (Talk about a loss, sheesh.) Anyway, he says the 07-08 econo-box used market offers some of the best deals. Maybe worth a check-- depending on how you feel about used cars.
My Mom was looking at new cars to buy for my younger sisters first car, she had Ford down to $11,500 on a brand new 2008 Ford Focus 4-door with a/c and power everything. Now thats a deal but shes the best car shopper I've ever seen.
