I have a 1998 Mustang 4.6 which I bought new. I love driving the car but it feels like it could do with a tune up. I have been reading up on flash tuners and it looks like they could bring quite a lot of benefits in terms of gas mileage, increased power and drivability.
But ..... are they easy for the non-mechanically minded to use? Could using one damage the engine? Is it worth $370 for the supposed benefits it could bring?
Would be apreciative of any experience that others may have.
I would start with a basic tune up first. New plugs and wires and take a good look at the PCV valve. Once you get them taken care of the flash tuner is a good way to get a little extra HP. They are simple to use just follow the directions and you will not have a problem.
Thanks for both your posts which were helpful. That, plus a good bit of reading up has helped me decide which way to go.
