I have a Volvo with leather seats - I can buy stuff from my Volvo service people for over a hundred dollars... or? Could I use saddle soap or English leather? How do you wonderful people care for your leather seats in your cars?

Put mink oil on the seat of your pants. Be sure to slide in and out thoroughly.

I've used "Lexol" leather care products over the years and have been quite satisfied with the results.

Another product called "Connolly Hide Care" is supposed to be good but I haven't tried it yet.

I agree that Lexol cleaner is the way to go. I worked with a custom leather company who used Lexol cleaner mixed 50/50 with distilled water to clean/treat all leather. Experts there said not to use anything else and just minimize extended time in direct sun to extend life for many years.

We were amazed with ArmorAll Leather Care Gel. It is a cleaner and conditioner. I actually used it on a older leather couch that is in my husbands office...and the old couch looks almost new again!

Another vote for Lexol, and for trying to keep it out of direct sun.

IIRC English Leather is a men's cologne, and you may or may not like the way it would make your car smell, but I don't think it would do anything for the leather.

Lexol's good stuff. I also have achieved good results with the Meguiar's line.

Oh my gosh! I just realized this... hmmm... no I don't think men's cologne or aftershave would do for this.

Thanks so much for all your recommendations. I called an auto upholstery place and asked about Lexol and they said it was good stuff to use, too. I will probably go with that.

This is the first time I've ever had leather seats in a car. At first I missed my comfy cloth seats, but now having become used to the leather, and seeing how easy it is to clean and care for and how long they last, I'm a convert! They are beautiful and I want to keep them that way. I'm also thinking of getting seat covers to protect them from the sun.

Thanks so much!
