The Allante and Reatta both had potential. I bet somewhere inside GM is a set of engineers who came up with a fantastic package of engine and suspension only to be overrulled by the accountants. The Fiero also had fantastic potential. It's light weight and size made it so that even a low powered engine could propel it at good acceleration rates. With the right suspension and body stiffening it would have been a popular car. It had the right looks. It could have been Pontiac's Miata.

I'd take the last gen Riviera over the Reatta any day. The Allante always appealed to me on the exterior styling, but the interior was no more inspiring to me than that of any other GM product of that era. The TC was a non starter, I couldnt really ever tell the difference between it and a LeBaron without looking at the badge.
Can't recall the last time I saw a TC or a Reatta. Still see a few Allante's around from time to time. Come to think of it, I would take the last gen Rivvy over any of them.....

the thing that killed the fiero was the weak iron-duke 4CYL and the overheating problems they fixed them in the 87-88 models but by then the had a bad reputation for engine fires
