The platform was Chrysler as were most of the engine options. The V6 option was indeed a Mitsubishi engine, and the Turbo III was mostly Chrysler with lots of design input from Lotus. The Daytona replacement, aka the Avenger, is when it went full Mitsubishi.
Worst car-
2005 Dodge Neon. It was in the shop more than it was on the road. I paid $12k brand new out the door and in a year I traded it in for $7000. POS

Shouldn't that have been warranty work? And if it was fixed, did they just not fix things correctly?
I guess they didnt fix it correctly - because it kept going back into the shop. And now I hear that the dealership is one of the ones being closed by Chrysler. Good Riddens
My second bad car I have owned was an 84 Mustang L - It had a V6 with the CFI fuel injection. It only had 36k miles and it would break down all the time. I was always brining it to mechanics to fix and no one could figure out what was wrong with it.
2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. 3.0 V6. Super freaking adorable. And when it actually was on the road, damn that thing was fun to drive. But 18 months and 12k later I gave up and put it in the garage. It's still there. I'll get back to it some day. For as much of a POS as that car is, I"m irrationally in love with it. Argh!!
Now I'm driving a 98 Dodge Stratus, gold, that I hate with a passion. Everyone says they're are the biggest POS out there and it'll never last me a week. My luck - since I've decided to fix the Eclipse when the Stratus craps out - it will never, ever die.
HMM i never had a problem on my cars or truck but i only buy ford or GM and they were all RWD and v-8's except for my old 93 2.3L mustang which was underpowerd but my dad like dodge trucks with the cummings and he always seems to have tranny trouble he seems to replace them every two years but i heard they fixed it with the new 6-spd..the one thing though is i used to have a bronco with a 351 and a holly 4bbl with a manual choke that thing took for ever to warm up but i had old blowen out true dual exhaust with galsspacks so it was really loud
toss up between a 1979 buick regal that i bought in 1981 with 50K miles on it.....
OR
a 1987 toyota tercel .... bought new ..... toyota spent more money doing warranty work on that car than i paid for it ..... carbs every 20k miles or so.... blown head gasket..... on and on ..... can't remember what all else.....
what a pos........
so.... as i think about it, i think the tercel wins this contest for me.......
and as i think even further..... one of the BEST cars i have ever had was a 1999 buick regal....... go figure

I should of just dumped a 302 into it....
a 302 would cost more than the car would of been worth and the subframe can twist under the v-8's torque next time you see and old 5.0 look at the door frame most are bent out and sit funny..seems people want lots of power but don't want to invest to put it to the ground
