Really? Do you want to double check that quote? It does go by other names but this one is usually known by people who knows cars.

Please, tell us, what is this mysterious "fuel evaporator?" What are some of the other names it goes by, which apparently I would know if I knew anything about cars?

Yeah, I'm 100% certain there is no such thing as a fuel evaporator. Tell ya what: you find the un-refutable proof of this mystery component and I'll eat my hat.
P.S. I'm a factory-trained BMW Master technician and am ASE Master certified. If this component exists, I've been malpracticing for many years!

B. Wing, is any/all of this stuff covered if you are not the original owner and the mileage is under 70k??? just got a 04 jeep wrangler and the check engine light came on not even a hundred miles driven by me. I didn't get an extended warranty, and am taking it back to the dealer today...any suggestions?

How old is your car and how many miles does it have?

It could be an o2 sensor upstream/downstream or a leak in the exhaust system or a catalytic converter.

This seems to be a pretty common problem for the cobalt. Mine is now given me a PO411 and P2441 code. The dealer wants $685 to replace SAI check valve and PCM Update (whatever that is). I have a 2008 Cobalt LS. I'm beginning to think that these cars are nothing but pieces of sh#t!

I have never once in my life had anything covered under any warranty so I dont buy a warranty at all anymore. I make my purchases with knowing I'm screwed if anything goes wrong, it's better this way, peace of mind in a really jacked up sense lol.

Far as engine lights go, I have had cars with ghost engine lights that come on and off at random times. Scares most people but I dont worry about it as long as all the vitals on the car are fine. My gf's pt cruiser (junk) has had the check engine light on since 2006. O2 sensor.
