I have been a fan of Maguires products for a long time now. Anway lastnigt I stopped in at the auto store to get some more wax and found this NXT 2.0 by Maguires. This stuff is easy to use. Has some great restoration ability. My bike was swirled pretty bad on the front fender. You can't even see the buffer marks any more!

Is there a down side to this new style wax?

Down side? Maybe not, probably not. Meguier's was bought out by 3M awhile back, this may be the first fruit of their combined skullduggery.

Ordinarily when a big company buys out an outfit like Meguier's, it's bad news, but IMHO 3M is a good outfit, they make good stuff.

Typical downside to easy to use waxes are they contain too much/too coarse abrasives, and/or they don't last.

Basically there are two ways to remove fine scratches or swirl marks. One is to use finer abrasives to make the scratches smaller and smaller until you can't see them anymore. This is what rubbing compounds do. The other is to fill them, usually with wax or oil. Some of what we used to call "cleaner waxes" would combine the two. My experience with Macguire's is that they usually took the "fill it" approach. If you remove the wax you would see that the scratches are still there. They have always been good products, and so has 3M.

On a side note, modern (urethane) paints do not require waxing. So do it only for filling those fine scratches, or if you are obsessed with the "water beading" characteristics.

I do like the water beeding but more than anything I like a deep lustrous shine. I like to be able to see color in reflections.

this NXT 2.0 is fantastic. I (as well as MANY other show car owners) use and love it,. Highly recommended. NO downsides.

We have been having ridiculous rain here for a few days now and this stuff has been awesome. I get home squirt the car with a hose wipe it down with a micro fiber and it looks freshly waxed. No soap no nothing. I am very impressed.

The best product I have used for spider web scratches is glaze, it's thin and has the consistency of milk. Simply put it on and buff it off, but you must use wax afterwards.

I do like the quick detail. I was using it before I found the 2.0

On the spiders and swirls they make a swirlx I think it is called hat you use before the NXT 2.0
