Three weeks ago I had bought a cute small die cast replica of a Chrysler LeBaron Town & Country station wagon in Rite Aid. I posted that here and in fact the discussions turned to die cast replicas. Rite Aid also carried 2 door Pintos in different colors and they had a cool 68 Chevelle in beige

The lebaron wagon I bought was perfect--blue with woodgrain siding(unpretentious Mopar) and a cool hood ornament, even top luggage rack, opening front doors and hood.

I am trying to figure out what year this car is. It's basically a Volare/Aspen wagon in Chrysler dressing and those ran from 76-80 but I know they did carry this body past 80, in some cases all the way up to 89

I think the Lebaron was introduced in 78, does anyone know how long this wagon lasted for?

1979 Chrysler Lebaron Town and Country Station Wagon - 1:24 Scale 1979TC
MSRP Motormint Price Qty *
$29.98 $19.98

Detailed Description
Mopar Muscle in a Station Wagon
1979 Chrysler Lebaron Town and Country Station Wagon
Chrysler Enters the Computer Age
Economic woes hurt auto sales in 1979 (Chrysler was down 8%) despite advances both inside and out. All Chrysler cars were lighter due to using space-age materials in both the engine and bumpers. And for the first time these Chryslers were equipped with a Diagnostic Connector that feed information to an Electronic Engine Performance Analyzer. The computer age was here.

The Lebaron Town and Country station wagon had sales of 17,463 costing $6191 with the V-8 engine option. Long abandoning real wood trim, the Town and Country had teakwood-grain wood tone appliqué with simulated white ash molding. Our 1:24 scale replica, with its factory baked-enamel cashmere paint job looks just as good as they did rolling off the Chrysler assembly line.

Features:
• Working Steering System
• Opening Front Doors and Hood
• Lighter Weight 318 Cubic Inch V-8 Engine Provided Plenty of Power
• Precision Die-Cast Replica
• 1:24 Scale
• 8.5" Long

**Looks like i answered my own question! Probably is a 79 (30 year anniversary?)
