If he’s worried about losing his manliness have him seek the help of a mental health professional. Being financially sensible and providing safe transportation for your kids does not make you less of a man.

Oh, and about the chick car thing, I pesonally believe women can drive any car and, depending on the message they want to portray, pull it off. As for men though, unless you are asian or over 40, still in good shape, dress well and are non homophobic in any way, (no offense, I just worked as a sign waver for a long time and paid attention to who drove what cars) your only choices are big trucks and SUVs, Musscule (sp) cars and really expensive lux cars. This double standard (or more, the male's extreme fear of looking "gay") is making my life hell right now.

I use a car to get from point a to point b.

I guess if I questioned my sexual identity I might be inclined to buy a "masculine" car however I am pretty sure I am a striaght hetero sexual male and I do not need to "prove" myself to anyone......

It cracks me up that some folks are so insecure that they actually think about this stuff when driving or choosing to buy a car.

I have now come to believe that Honda intentionally named their "Prelude" after the then most popular female sexual vibrator that had sold millions worldwide. At the time I thought it was a mistake.

I think if a man is with a woman and has a child with her, he shouldn't be extremely concerned about looking gay. I think you're (or your boyfriend is) carrying this whole thing a bit far.

A car that is practical in being safe and able to fit your child should not make him look gay, unless it's pink...

How about a four cylinder Vibe? If that can't get the job done...

That said, while talking to some of my coworkers about girly cars and such, one mentioned that the Forester was a lesbian car, so I told him, no problem with me, since I can always buy a bumper sticker that reads, "I drive Subaru, But I Am Straight"
