Hi all. I am a 25 y/o male and I've been a proud GM driver since my teen years, but Ive finally had enough of POS Caddillac's and Chevy's. I was looking at either a 2003 Honda Accord Coupe or a 2004 Acura TL. Does anyone know of any problems with either of the two, and how are they on room as I am 6'1 and that is a slight issue with me, and overall which one would you prefer?
The TL is a great car. I had an RL (a 96 that I got 251k out of) and there was plenty of room (I'm 6'3"). Heck, you are 25, go for the cooler car. There are lots of Acura enthusiasts at www.acuraworld.com. Go to the TL forum and they can answer any question you have....

Last question, the TL's I have been looking at are in the 75K -105K mileage range with about a $9K-12K price tage. Are those cars still dependable with that amount of miles on it? And I know the TL looks much better stock, but on the other end of the spectrum does the TL or Acura period have a large network of aftemarket suppliers? (not talking about those goofy body kits, but stuff like small performance mods, lighting, etc) IMO I like the TL much better, but Im torn because it appears that you can do more modifications to a regular Honda.
The real question is, do you want to buy a Honda Accord or a "premium" Honda Accord. If you're going to mod a car with high miles, I'd get the cheapest one possible with the best aftermarket - the normal Accord.
My father owns a 2003 TL-S and it has had 3 auto transmissions in 120,000 miles. He is not alone, it is typical of the car up to 2003 and some early 2004 model years. I would not buy an Acura or Honda product unless you are getting one made after 2005 IMO.
And even so there are still some tranny issues with those.

At this point in a 2004 car's mileage, the tranny is either good or it isn't. The TL/CL/Accord failures tended to happen relatively early, so if the 2004 in question had a problem tranny, it most likely has already been replaced. I would be more concerned with the overall mileage and how the car has been maintained. At this point, a number of parts could be close to replacement, and lack of maintenance will be expensive.
I had a 2002 TL-S and had two transmission replacements before Honda repurchased the vehicle. I purchased a 2004 Accord V6 and didn't have a single problem.
I'd get a copy of the consumer reports ratings on reliability to see what the overall reliability of the Acura and TL has been over the years. It may be a tie or the Honda may be more reliable. The Acura will cost you more. More to buy and insure. More for gas. More for parts and repairs. Both cars will last a long time. If you are looking for transportation and usability, go with the Honda. As you are 25 and may want to add a little style and luxury, go with the TL. There will be plenty of opportunities to own an Accord later in life when you are an old guy like me...

I don't know your monthly budget. However, the biggest thing to consider is that the Acuras use Premium Gas. If that is not a problem for you, the other thing to consider are the higher repair bills. If that is not a problem and the features are the ones you want in the TL, the Acura will be ideal.
