What will happen is we'll likely seethe turbo 6 in several models including a version of the Mustang situated between the regular v6 and the GT models.
Oh they most certainly will. Regardless though, I don't see them even considering it. They have alot of money tied up in the development of their V8 engines and they've just recently announced that the displacement is increasing back to 5 liters.
I have heard the recent "return of the 5.0" accouncement. I agree that placing a turbo 6 somewhere in the lineup is a likely first step.
Forget the turbo v-6 and the v-8, how about hardcore turbo 4's like those that are found in the WRX and Evo
Ford actually has experience building high power turbo fours from their WRC days. I prefer a turbo 6 myself though as a great balance between a 4 and 8.
I do not think the Author of the article has previous to this experience stepped foot in a camaro lol.

This is all I needed to read to figure out that one. I have ALWAYS called my 77 Camaro a 2 1/2 person car. The backseat is only big enough to fit my daughter in, Same goes with a friends 69 Camaro, and my older brothers 84 Camaro. They have NEVER had enough to fit 4 full sized adults in.
Chevy has reintroduced the Displacement on Demand that failed so miserably in the past due to the tech at the time. It is now working much much better, and currently is in several models, I believe including the SS Camaros. I could see a turbo V-6 somewhere in the lineup, but nothing is going to cause the V-8's to completely disappear.
I don't think the V8's are going anywhere, the V8 in the Camaro is up to 6.2L . There hasn't been an engine that big in a Camaro since the 70's.
Part of the reason people like V8's is because they make a nice growl at low RPM (especially with aftermarket exhaust). The turbo 6 cyl's only sound good at high RPM, and that's hard to do while cruising down Main Street.
seven up, are you a new challenger fan? I definately think the Challenger looks more like it's older counterpart, than the new Camaro. I'm very much a GM (Chevy) fan, but the new Camaro doesn't really look all that great to me. I think the new Challenger is pretty nice looking for a "new" retro look car.

Of the three retro muscle car redos I'd take the challenger on looks. Not driven any of them, though. I'm 60's-early seventies iron. These electronic drivetrains and chassis just don't do it for me.
Chrysler imo has outdone the competition in preserving the look of the 60's-seventies muscle with the Challenger.

While its not a V8 rumble the low rpm exhaust noise on VQ35 powered cars like the 350Z and G35 is dead sexy.
