I have 3 small holes in my muffler. How effective is muffler tape & does it last awhile ? I have a smog coming up this fall & i know ill fail if i dont cover the holes or replace the muffler. I know muffler tape is my least expensive bet.

Muffler tape is, like Omaha Rocks said, a waste of money.

Could you just weld up the holes on the muffler?

Are you not worried about exhaust fumes getting into the passenger compartment of your car? Not something to take lightly.
