You didn't ask but I'll say "dont' do it" anyway. To do all under the hood, door jambs, etc. *really right* will cost more than a cheap car is worth; on the other hand if you have something that's going up in value like a classic 'vette, changing the color will definitely reduce the value of the car to serious collectors anyway.

Don't even think about MAACO or whatever for a color change. Don't even go there...

I was just going to say that macco is something to stay away from also I would paint it the same colour so it still looks decent because it will match the colour of all the nooks and crannies.

NO, you will not. Just don't change the Vin serial number and you're good to go.

I can't recall ever seeing the color of my car specified on the title. Are you sure it is? I've had several cars in which I would never have been able to tell you what color they are in plain language. My wife and I constantly argued about what color our cars were, almost as a leitmotif. We had one that I called red and she called brown, and one that I called blue and she called green, and one that I called blue and she called gray. I had one that was listed in the documents as Topaz, and I can't even think of another word for it. My dad had one of those three-tone '55 Dodges. Our last two cars were both gray, one gun-metal and one silver, as different as two colors can be.

My titles don't show color. I thought the same as you. Maybe OP is (unknowingly) thinking that the VIN should be changed to reflect the new color. I don't think that could even be done.
