Why are some making an issue about Hyundai doing well? It seems to be the same people, who either have a lifelong issue with Toyota, Honda or other imports.

I give the Hyundai Genesis its due credit, they've improved quite a bit. I just won't go as far as saying it's better than an LS460. One who would say such thing, clearly has not driven an LS460, or even a GS430. Let's be real. I've driven both to know there is a difference. I give Hyundai credit, but it's no LS460.

Enough of the payroll nonsense. These cars have improved a lot. I wish I could say the same for Chrysler and other manufacturers. Tell me the 2009 Elantra is the same as a 1987 Excel!? I give Hyundai their due credit for improving and attempting to enter the luxury car market. It's an effort worthy of mention.

Again, I give them their due credit. They have improved a lot. I haven't owned any, but driven enough to know they are better than most domestic cars and some Japanese cars.

By the way, Lexus is the #1 most reliable car and has been for a long time, so that's probably not the best argument to make.
Like I tell people. Drive one, and you'll know.

That's what I'm waiting for. That's how I gauge cars, 5 years from new. Everything new is usually nice....well except Dodge..(i.e Caliber, Magnum..total POS's)

I think people should buy what they want, from where ever with no guilt trip or political guilt nonsense. Hyundais are great cars, and Kim Jong shouldn't stop anyone from getting one. Keep politics out of cars.

I'll give you one reason, and that's it.
1. BECAUSE THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT WITH THEIR MONEY!! If you can buy a Lexus LS460, then do so. If not, buy what you can afford and what you like.

It's foolish to think the only reason people are buying Hyundais is because they can't afford a Lexus. You've just demonstrated exactly why an accepted luxury brand can charge so much more for an equal or lesser product.

I agree. Most rich people buy simple cars like Fords and Hondas. And that has a lot to do with them being rich--they know $80,000 cars a waste of money.
We just bought a new 2009 Hyundai after comparing it to the cars you mentioned and it won out by far as a better deal and car.
It's our first Hyundai so time will tell..
You need to check them (Hyundai) out before you make such wild statements.
I have had several firends who have them and have looked at them. theyare not that new a auto company and have a reptuation from car they have already made.My point is they are not the qauilty or have the relaiblity reputation of toyota or Honda.

From the way that your wrote are you drunk? Besides that the new Hyundais are superior in quality to the latest Honda's and Toyota's. The new Camry is a mess. And the previous generation Accord was superior to the current generation.
"People who look at an S-Class won't even consider a Hyundai!"
Uh oh.
I am not in the market for either, but I could definitely see why an MB owner might get a Hyundai. Similar creature comforts for half the price, kinda like owning a winter beater in the Midwest in the winter. Keep the SS 396 in the garage and drive the rusted out Chevelle.

How do you know that? Do you have a crystal ball? You can't look at a new car and say it's quality, that takes years to determine. "Initial quality" reports are BS, nearly every car has quality initially because it's NEW.

Yeah every car except for all the ones with much lower scores
Plus it's not just Hyundai's newer Genesis cars, Hyundai has been ranking at the top in JD Power surveys and Consumer Reports for 6+ years now. And now Kia is joining the fray.
