What wax have you guys found to be:

1. The easiest to apply and wipe off off
2. The longest lasting?

Thank you,....marc

this is a real can 'o worms becuase there's two schools of thought, in general, on waxing

- old school
specialty wash (by hand)
claybar
three or four stage (often using a tool like a Porter Cable 7424 or PC), polish #X, polish #Y, wax followed by some hella-expensive just came out final wax step.

(this process takes like a day)

- new school
wash the car
use a "while wet" product to "wax it"
done in 20 minutes, go to the club

Bottom line (and I'm somewhere in the middle of the two above) Meguire's products have always worked well for me, and are probably tops in the "old school" cult of obsessive shine, based on my observations.

For my larger vehicle, I buy whatever "while wet" product is on sale and finish her up in a jiffy.

For my baby, I'm out there all day because the guy who owned her before me must have liked swirls.

Once a year I use Meguires in the red bottle it has a bit
of grit to it but works well for my dusty conditions

If I need a quickie in between I'm very pleased with
Nu-Finish in the orange bottle

Yup everyone is partial to what they like to use and what works best for them. I like to use Meguiars 3 step cleaner, polish, wax.

I've also used most of the store bought brands Mother's wax, Turtle Ice, Eagle One Nanowax, and one other I can't remember but I don't have any problems using any of them.

Yeah, just about any paste based wax will work wonders and I've used some thicker liquid based waxes to good effect. I always apply Klasse paint sealant for extra protection because my car is left to park outisde.

P21, Griot's Garage, Meguiar's, and Zymol are all good. Zaino and etc. are excellent but somewhat pricy. Although Zymol goes all the way from a version they sell at Wally-World to "Destiny" which costs $647 for a jar. (according to Emmon's Coach Works website). If you want to go completely nuts they have "Royale" for $8416.00. This is probably the most expensive, no doubt it's damn good, most of the people who would have the money to consider this are not fools, and would be in touch with the vendor if they were not satisfied...Probably it's not very cost-effective though.

Hard to say what's the longest-lasting, depends on what kind of environment the car is in (wet, dry, lot of UV or not, hot, etc.)

Like with motor oils, there are a lot of products out there and most are at least good. It's also true that the higher-cost stuff does provide a greater level of protection, likewise it's true that you may or may not really benefit from this higher level of protection.

It also depends on the skill and willingness to apply elbow grease shown by the guy who applies the wax.
