Anyone know how? I've been trying to get it off since I was up in NJ, and through a few torrential downpours, and me scrubbing at it with soap, it still will not come off. Anyone know how to get it off without driving myself crazy?
I use to use kerosene which is hard to get for road tar and sap from the famous pines. I would think that the tar removers sold in cans would work fine also.Shuld be avialble at any wuto display where waxes are sold.
There's special products made for this, I've used it several times. Unfortunately, I can't remember what its called. My parents have every automotive cleaner known to man, so I just bring it by there whenever something like this happens. But I bet you can ask at Pep Boys or other similar place, and they'll be able to point you in the right direction.
What kind of tree? I had blobs of Jaquaranda sap on my car and no one could get it off. (It had hardened). Eventually, I had the hood remoeved and blasted with somethjing()sawdust? Ice chips? Cant remember). Took off the paint too.

You didn't tell us what kind of tree sap you are struggleing with, but you might try "Butter". Thats right, "Butter"! I have used it to remove Douglas Fir sap from linoleum and metal RV steps. It may work on other tree sap also. Now that's REAL butter. Not "Just like butter" or "Might be butter" or something like that.
Good luck.
