Omaha I agree with you about working the pickup. The pain job wouldn't need to be anything fancy or show quality. Something to protect the sheet metal

I hear you on that one! I have a had a few vehicles like that and they are great. One was an old 83 Ford Ranger 4x4 I paid $800 for. It was pretty rusty so I got a bed off of an 87 and a couple of side doors from the junk yard. So everything was different color and the two doors had different style mirrors. I then put on a body lift and 31 inch tires. The other was an 88 Chevy cargo van one of my co workers had sitting in a field for a couple of years. I paid $500 bucks for it and got it running and drove it home. Didn't put much money into it just on parts to get it runnin good. It had a 305 and ran good for a few years until I sold it for $1200.

I've got an 89 Chevy truck. I've had it now for about 12 years. It is in fantastic mechanical condition, but has gotten rusty.

Well, I got a question for y'all; If I pull a dry van, why on earth would I need a flatbed scanner???
